🙏🏻Peace – Shalom 🙏🏻

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
💜James 3:17-18💜
Jesus came to be the Prince of Peace. The word in Hebrew is “shalom.” I love when I hear the phrase “shalom, shalom” – Perfect Peace.
Just brings such a calm to my heart to think of Jesus saying those words. Jesus did not come just to end wars, but to make us complete by saving us from sinfulness.
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”
💜Colossians 3:15💜
As we are walking through week 2 of Advent let us prepare our hearts. That Jesus will fill you with all peace as you pursue him.
Pursue Him: We need to actively pursue Jesus to have the peace that he talks about. That he wants for us. A peace that can only come from faith in know that no matter what may come, he will always be there.
“The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your mind in Christ Jesus.”
💜Philippians 4:7💜
Jesus brings two types of peace and we need to practice each. Inner peace – because of the work on the cross we now have the assurance of salvation. But we also have the assurance that God will heal this broken world and will come again.

Second is peace with others – which for me can be much more difficult. We need to put aside our differences. Jesus had many people who disagreed with him, even hated him. But he chose peace. He chose to love others, even those we disagree with.
💜
I go back to the word “Shalom” and when you dig deeper into the meaning it goes beyond not fighting with other people. But shalom, in essence, are how things are meant to be: a slice of heaven. A reconciliation with God. Perfect Peace.
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace (shalom) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1
