Artistry
I think it difficult to walk through a fall day and not encounter God’s glory, His artistry, and creativity.
The bold colors- the display of wonder- every where you look His brushstroke’s captivate.
It’s funny though, we are so quick to stammer and ooh over the canvas, and yet we are hard pressed to be captivated by God’s beauty-His image.
Perhaps, I’ve stunned you and you’re unsure what I mean. Well let me tell you….. 😌😉
You my beautiful Sister are more captivating than any fall display. To behold you, is to behold the image of God.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27 NKJV
Fall is poignant, purposeful, and is the closing of year. I have been moving slowly through the book of Romans for the last month and I have just gotten through chapter 6. I encourage you to read it ( maybe start in chapter 5 for context). Chapter 5 is all about dying to yourself but coming alive in Christ. I can’t help but see a correlation between death of the flesh and beauty of fall.
Dying isn’t ugly, smelly, or decompose us when we are baptized and die with Christ. It is the most beautiful, poignant, and purposeful act. We are reborn and alive in Christ, now living by His Spirit.
Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Romans 6:3-7 NKJV
I have felt like recently I’m finally able to connect some dots. Dots of understanding, to dots of receiving, to other dots that make my heart aware. Have you ever known something but it just didn’t compute in your heart? That’s what I mean. I knew but NOW I’m able to live it. I pray and hope the same for you.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
II Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
