Happy New Year!

December

Fresh Start-Fresh Beginnings-Fresh Wind-Fresh Perspective-NEW!

Time to sweep up the stale bits of last year’s unmet goals and expectations. Starting fresh with a clean slate is freeing in many ways.

January

As I prepared mentally and thought about what goals I wanted to set for myself I’m met with the obvious places I regressed, my weaknesses, and yes, even failures of this last year. But I also see places of growth, greater understanding, barriers overcome, and accomplishments that I hadn’t even set goals for.

How do you evaluate your year? Surely, a year is not only evaluated by accomplishments or failures- but rather in how challenges are walked, endured, and even won.

February

I’ve had several conversations about goal setting for 2025, and most are met with hesitancy- and if that’s you today I’d like to put that hesitancy to bed. Regardless of how often you’ve failed or let yourself down at not accomplishing all you set out to do- I applaud you for daring to dream of a better version of yourself, circumstance, or life.

March

I’ll ask you what I asked others: “Is it better to set goals, embrace the challenge, believing in yourself, and achieve little and perhaps fail?” Or “Is it better to avoid any challenge and accomplish nothing and perhaps be even worse off than you are right now?”

April

I have feared failure. But fear of failure is the prevention of success. It stifles and keeps things unchanged, and unmoved. I don’t want to let fear of failure determine my success or my future. I’d rather fail every year believing and hoping for better, than believe I am unable to change myself, circumstances, or the world around me.

I believe those sentiments are innately placed in each of us by God.

May

““You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

June

June

You are salt. Flavored to bring change to the world.

You are light. Casting out darkness with the Holy Spirits countenance within you. You aren’t meant to fit in or for your light to be dampened by the hardships of this world.

July

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.””

‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus has overcome the world- and so have you! Don’t allow last year’s failures eat this year’s possibility. Go. Do. Obey.

August

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You are called. Equipped. Anointed and ordained to not just know the kingdom, but carry and be the kingdom of God wherever this life takes you.

September

Leave your mark and impact. Please know that real significance happens in the heart of one man or woman. It isn’t because your name is well known on lips or households all over the world. It’s because God’s love was able to impact them through you.

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.””

‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭35‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Happy New Year! I hope 2025 is one of your best.

Take some time and think about these questions:

  1. How do you evaluate your year?

  2. How do you define success?

  3. Is failure an endpoint to your dreams?

November

Every January my church joins with thousands of others worldwide in 21 days of prayer from January 5-25th. I like to spend this time and set goals with God, and evaluate the precious year. I do- pick a word every year and use it as a compass. I highly encourage you to do that. I’ll share soon my word and scripture that I anchor it to.

Please share your word or your thoughts on the questions, I’d love to hear your insights.
