He Has Made You….

2 Chronicles 2
Then Hiram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: Because the Lord loves His people, He has made you king over them. Hiram also said: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, for He has given King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, who will build a temple for the Lord and a royal house for himself!
II Chronicles 2:11-12 NKJV
WOW! What a compliment.
It made me reflect on the life I’m living. I have had many words spoken over my life. Some good. A lot bad. For a long time I accepted the harmful words and lies as truth over who I am.
“Sticks and stones can break bones but words will never hurt me.”
I don’t care who sang the song to you, words hurt worse than stones. They can leave a barb of bitterness in your soul until the day you die, and worse your bitterness spits poison onto every relationship you’re in, wounding others in your painful wake.
Oh, but words can mend and bring life. Words can soothe. Words can build up, encourage, inspire, and invigorate.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 18:21 NKJV
What words have people spoken over you that you dismissed as kindness instead of life? What words have you claimed as truth but were darts of the enemy sent to kill and destroy?
I was just recalling an interaction I had where a woman and I connected and were speaking about ministry. And she said something along the lines of “Every Mary needs an Elizabeth”, implying I could be her Elizabeth.
To be truthful at that moment that stung. I never imagined myself as the sidekick, you know? That was years ago. And today it was brought to my mind because I will never be “it”. I will never be number 1.
It’s always got to be Jesus first. His heart. His agenda. His way. All this time, I didn’t know it, but I’ve been learning to love being second. I’ll never be in God’s will if I’m always putting myself first.
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for creating each of your sons and daughters with intention. We are all created with an innate need to be in relationship with our Creator and with a longing for eternity, to leave a mark. Lord, open our spiritual eyes to see the lost children in our world who are desperate to have a supernatural touch from God. Lord, send me! I’m yours. Let it be said of me: Because the Lord loves His people, He has sent me to share the good news with them. In Jesus’s mighty name we pray, Amen and amen.
