Wisdom

2 Chronicles 22
He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to do wickedly. Therefore he did evil in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab; for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.
II Chronicles 22:3-4 NKJV
Can you imagine?
No mother I think would advise their son to do evil, I think, unless it is thought to be wisdom. Sound wisdom.
But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
James 3:14-16 NKJV
The Bible calls some wisdom demonic. This obviously is that kind. It is self seeking. I’ve been self seeking and assumed I was responding wisely but of course was not.
The times I have felt I have responded the most wisely it left me humbled, responding to serve and honor others above myself. It was not of my own doing of course (or should I say a response of my flesh) because that is to place our needs above others.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
James 3:17-18 NKJV
But wisdom from above, wisdom yielding to the spirit brings greater fruit and the response of Christ- mercy.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
James 1:5 NKJV
Lord Jesus- train me to walk by Your Spirit, to have a heart of service-to place others above myself, to seek Your guidance and yield to Your will above my own. Thank you for your generosity Lord and gifting wisdom to your children. In Jesus’s name, amen.
