Whatcha Sowin’

Hosea 10

Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, Because you trusted in your own way, In the multitude of your mighty men.

‭‭Hosea‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Sow righteousness, reap love. It’s time to till the ready earth, it’s time to dig in with God, Until he arrives with righteousness ripe for harvest.

But instead you plowed wicked ways, reaped a crop of evil and ate a salad of lies. You thought you could do it all on your own, flush with weapons and manpower.

‭‭Hosea‬ ‭10‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God has principles. One of them is the principle of sowing and reaping.

What you sow matters.

Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I didn’t quite understand this for much of my life.

Sow unkindness, reap unkindness.

Sow insecurity, reap insecurity.

Sow  fear, reap fear.

Sow hate, reap hate.

Sow hope, reap hope.

Sow kindness, reap kindness.

Sow love, reap love.

It’s time to dig in. It’s time to yield fruits of the spirit and not fruits of your labor.

PRAYER: Jesus, you are so just in all your ways. Thank you for showing us your ways and that You being who You are, are unable to sow anything but goodness. Help us to sow fruits of your spirit. In Jesus’s name amen.
