SOAP Isaiah 27: Fruitful

SOAP Isaiah 27: Fruitful

ISAIAH 27

”In that day, they will sing the song “The Vineyard of Delight.” “I, the Lord, watch over my vineyard of delight. Moment by moment, I water it in love and protect it day and night. There is no anger in me, for if I found briars and thorns I would burn them up and march to battle against them. So let the branches cling to my protection when they make true peace with me. Yes, let them make me their friend.” The coming ones of Jacob’s tribes will take root. Israel’s branches will bud and blossom, and her beautiful fruit will cover the face of the earth.“

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭27‬:‭2‬-‭6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I love this kind of imagery. God is the ultimate gardener, tending to His church, removing weeds. He waters and brings growth, and fruit.

Even now as I think of Israel. He's caring for His vineyard. It would by some standards not feel that way. The assault, genocide, hatred, and discrimination the Jews have endured just within the last 100 years is appalling. And yet, God loves His chosen people.

He's watching with delight, watering in love, and allowing the roots to flourish so the vineyard will be fruitful. It makes me think of the olive tree. It requires the hot, harsh wind of the east and the cooler, damp wind of the west to produce a fruit.

We need difficulty to thrive, to be better, to grow grateful, and be fruitful.

What difficult thing are you going through right now? How can you find God’s delight? Can you trust He will water you and cause you to be fruitful?

Prayer: Father, I trust You. Regardless, of what I see. Regardless, of what the circumstances are screaming. I know you are watching over me with delight. That You will bring rain. You will sustain me. You will ensure that adversity will not overtake me, it will press me. But I will not be overtaken.  I trust You in the process. In Jesus’ name- amen.
