Living Bigger Than Me

ISAIAH 45
For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name and give you a title of honor. But you don’t even know me. I am Yahweh, the only God there is, and you’ll never find another. I will strengthen you for victory, even though you do not intimately know who I am. Yet through you everyone will know who I really am. Those from the rising sun in the east to the west, everyone everywhere will know that I am Yahweh, the one and only God, and there is no other. I create light, and I make it dark. I make bliss, and I create adversity. I am Yahweh who does all these things.’ “Shower down righteousness, O heavens above. Let the clouds drip with deliverance! Let earth’s womb open and bear salvation’s fruit, with righteousness rising up beside it! I, Yahweh, have created all of them!
Isaiah 45:4-8 TPT
For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen….
I’m reading a book that says this large sum of my ancestors, the reason they lived, the reason they made some of the choices they did, was all for me.

Can you imagine thousands of your ancestors all making choices to create a better existence for you? If that is how those before me thought well I think it’s about time that I stop thinking so small, so selfishly, so in the moment.
I’ve been thinking a lot about legacy recently. Living life different. I started a weight loss journey last year and one of my motivations was making health choices now for future generations, so I’m the woman I want to be then. I have to choose her today, so I can be her tomorrow for others.

Can I live in a way today that could affect how God would respond to the generations of my lineage to follow me? That in the chance one does not know the Lord, He would call them by name.
Yet, through me, through you everyone can know who God is. Who He really is!

Prayer: Thank you God for helping us to live a life bigger than ourselves, bigger than just our lifetime. Instead our lives lived well can impact more than we could ever dream. Lord, let my life be used as an instrument and offering to spread the good news, to reflect God’s light, to love without reserve, and to be generous with all You’ve given. In Jesus’ name I pray, yes and amen.
