Forgiveness

ISAIAH 47
Come down and sit in the dust, O Virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
Isaiah 47:1 KJV
Like many of the books of Isaiah this chapter is filled with imagery and prophecy. This first verse spoke to me the most. It speaks of a woman who has been humiliated. She has been stripped of her clothing, forced to sit in the dust.
Stripped of her throne.
I’m going to forgo the prophecy and just speak to the verse in a more pragmatic way.
I feel like I can relate to this woman.
Have you ever felt humiliated and stripped of everything you hold dear?

I have.
It isn’t easy to get up from the dust, wipe your self off and move on. It isn’t easy to forgive those who have humiliated you.
As the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Colossians 3:12 KJV
Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing what was done to you. It also doesn’t mean making up with the person who hurt you. Forgiveness will give you peace that allows you to focus on yourself and obtain healing. In order to receive healing you must let go of bitterness.
Lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you.
Hebrews 12:15 KJV
Prayer: Jesus, Your word reminds us that we need to forgive those who have sinned against us, then our Heavenly Father will forgive us. Today we choose to forgive. We declare that we will make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who has offended us. In Jesus name, Amen

Forgiving myself is something I still work on when guilt and condemnation comes to my heart. It helps me to thank God in audible voice for his forgiveness in my life ❤️
Amen! The power of forgiveness is such a gift when we allow that to heal our souls 💜
Amen!
Forgiveness is truly vital to our growth in Jesus. We can’t get through life, and sometimes I feel like I can’t get through a day, without needing to forgive. While we usually focus on forgiving others. Sometimes, it is myself that I need to forgive.
