The Battle Matters

NAHUM 2
“Assyria, I’m your enemy,”
says God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
“I’ll torch your chariots. They’ll go up in smoke.
‘Lion Country’ will be strewn with carcasses.
The war business is over—you’re out of work:
You’ll have no more wars to report,
No more victories to announce.
You’re out of war work forever.”
Nahum 2:13 MSG
There was a time that I did not enjoy chapters like this because I did not
understand the importance of the battle. Perhaps it was because I had not yet
been in many battles. I am in awe of those who engage in physical battle and I’m
sure that there is nothing I have experienced that is as terrifying of being in
combat.

So, when I write the word battles, please know that I know nothing of the intense
battle of war. There are different battles that we all have in our lives. War of the
wills, war of the mind, warring with our spouse, our children, our friends, warring
with people that we don’t know. The worst of the wars are likely within ourselves.
Now, when I read these chapters that describe wars, I focus on the God who is
ALWAYS on my side.I don’t know when the war ends. I definitely don’t often
understand why it is necessary. But, I do know that God has a plan. And I know
that He is the best strategist and the most fierce enemy. The battle matters.
There are many monuments that required significant planning. No planning
compares to the plan of our God!

Prayer: Jesus, Thank you for being on my side, all the time. You do have a plan. It is a
plan that started so long ago. You knew the beginning and You know the end.
Help me, Jesus the be faithful in the midst of the battle. In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
Well said❣️
